One-Day Refresher Training Programme
Venur: A One-Day Refresher Training Programme was organized at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Industrial Training Institute (SDM ITI), Venur, on October 2, for the staff members of SDM ITIs at Venur, Samse, Ujire and Vamanjoor.
The programme was organized with the blessings of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade and under the guidance of Sri D. Harshendra Kumar. The primary objective of the programme was to enhance the professional skills, teaching capabilities and overall effectiveness of the staff in carrying out their institutional responsibilities.
During the programme, Mr. Pavan Kiranakere conducted a special session on “Golden Keys of Personality.” He explained the essential qualities required for teachers to develop a strong and effective personality. He highlighted the importance of behaviour, communication skills, a positive attitude, punctuality, discipline, self-confidence, responsibility and maintaining a good rapport with students. He emphasized that the personal qualities and conduct of teachers have a significant influence on the personality development and future of students.
Mr. Nagesh Shate M provided insights into Trade Theory Training Methodology, while Mr. Gurudath shared information on the maintenance and management of training records.
A special session on “Managing the Young Generation” was conducted by Mr. Sathish Bilinele. He elaborated on the thinking patterns, learning styles, use of technology, influence of social media, independent thinking and expectations of Gen Z students. He emphasized that today’s students should not merely be controlled but should be understood and guided through friendly communication, mentoring, encouragement and practical learning approaches.
Mr. Ramachandra Shetty provided guidance on Trade Practical Training Methodology, while Mr. Sathish Venur shared valuable insights into the use of technology in teaching and learning.
Speaking on the topic “SDM Institutions’ Service to Society,” the Principal, Mr. K. R. Vishweshwara Prasad, highlighted the role of SDM institutions in serving society beyond education. He explained the importance of social responsibility and the various initiatives undertaken by the institutions for the benefit of the community.
As part of the training programme, participants visited various departments and engaged in activity-based learning and group discussions. The staff members actively participated in the sessions and shared their experiences, opinions and suggestions.
The programme concluded with a valedictory session and vote of thanks. A cultural programme and refreshments were arranged thereafter.
The One-Day Refresher Training Programme provided a valuable platform for staff members to enhance their professional competencies, exchange experiences and strengthen their teaching practices, thereby contributing to the delivery of quality and effective training at SDM ITIs.
