Fitter Trade
The Fitter Trade provides comprehensive training in precision fitting, assembly, maintenance, and repair of machines and metal components used in industrial and manufacturing sectors. The course develops highly skilled technicians capable of performing accurate and quality mechanical work.
Training Covers
- Precision sizing and fitting of metal parts to close tolerances
- Assembly of machine components using hand and power tools
- Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications
- Cutting, shaping, drilling, filing, grinding, tapping, and threading operations
- Marking and layout work using precision measuring instruments
- Accurate measurement using calipers, micrometers, vernier gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, slip gauges, and sine bars
- Drilling holes and cutting internal and external threads using taps and dies
- Assembly using screws, rivets, and pins
- Dismantling and replacement of worn-out or defective parts
- Preventive maintenance of simple machines
- Basic construction and maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
- Testing and inspection of completed assemblies
- Basic turning, welding, brazing, and heat treatment processes (annealing, hardening, tempering)
